Nova Chrome Kit

With the Nova Chrome Kit, you can add a reflective chrome shine to almost any surface in no time at all – whether metal, plastic, glass or even wood. The compact system is ideal for creative applications, repairs or refinishing and offers professional results without the need for expensive equipment. Simple, flexible and impressive in its effect.

Paintable: Apply NOVA-CLEAR lacquer to protect the surface and increase its durability without losing the mirror effect. You can then apply 2K again to improve outdoor durability. For this, we recommend P8-80 UHS lacquer (you can apply it directly or mix it with one of our exclusive colours).
Fast drying: Fast-drying formula that saves time on your projects.

How do you apply it with a sponge?

1. Prepare the surface: Apply to the shiny, clean surface (preferably acrylic paint or 2K polyurethane) with the sponge in quick, even strokes. If there is still an area to cover, go over it again very carefully so as not to remove the paint. You can even spray directly from the container to immediately cover or repaint uncovered areas.

2. Even coat: Allow to dry and repeat the process if necessary until the layer is completely covered. Don’t worry if traces of the sponge remain, the surface will even out on its own after a few seconds. If not, moisten the sponge again and go over it very carefully with just the tip of the sponge until everything is completely covered. You can dry it with a hair dryer, but it is always better to let it air dry to avoid possible stains.

3. Repaint: If you need to touch up chrome because there is a stain or an unpainted area, it is best to repaint small parts. This is quicker. For large pieces, you can proceed section by section to prevent new stains from forming. For more complex pieces, you can use a spray gun for better coverage.

4. Protect with varnish: After drying, apply NOVA-CLEAR varnish to protect and preserve the shine. It can be overcoated with P8-80 UHS varnish 2 hours after application or with any other proven varnish to ensure better outdoor durability.

Application with airbrush or spray gun

To achieve optimal results with the Nova Chrome Kit, please follow these steps and instructions:

Preparation & Order

No dilution necessary:
The product is ready to use and can be applied directly from the container – no additional dilution is required.
Apply in thin, even layers:
Apply the material in fine layers with a steady hand.
Make sure to maintain a constant distance from the surface to avoid runs or drips.
Control pressure and opening:
Work with low pressure, maximum 2 kilograms.
Open the spray head or dosing unit only about half a turn. This ensures an even flow of material and prevents over-accumulation.
Drying:
For best results, the coated surface should be allowed to air dry. This allows the chrome to cure evenly and without tension.

Finish & protective coating

After drying, the coated surface can be recoated with NOVA-CLEAR varnish or P8-80 UHS varnish.
Recoating should take place no earlier than 2 hours after application.
Alternatively, any UV- and weather-resistant clear varnish can be used, especially if the part is used outdoors.
